ABOUT US

The General Store is an all-women-run cafe and catering company, operating in the heart of Cape Town. We prepare fresh salads, quiches and bakes, from scratch every day and serve breakfasts and lunches in our small Bree street cafe.

The General Store was opened by Colette Maclennan, aka The General, a KZN-native who spent over a decade working in London. In 2015, she returned home to open The General Store. If you’ve been to visit us, you’ll know exactly who Colette is. She’s the warm, smiling face with an infectious laugh, who’s already for a chat – no matter how busy the shop is.
